Korean Food Cartoon Recipe Series
& Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Canada
The Challenge
I illustrated 16 cartoon-style Korean recipes, shared biweekly on KCCC’swebsite and social media. The purpose of this project was promoting Korean culture in Canada and approach to them in friendly way. Communicated with customers frequantly to discuss the 10pages story. Also, after complite whole series, I had to These visuals made the recipes engaging and accessible. I also compiled the artwork into a 50+ page recipebooklet, managing the layout, production, and printing for a high-quality result.
The Solution
I developed two concepts to improve the design, and the most effective one was selected for the final solution. The redesigned concept introduces six triangular boxes, each representing a different rice flavour, which fit neatly into a hexagonal carrier for easy storage and portability. Each box features:
- A compostable window to showcase the rice inside
- Measurement lines for easy portioning without extra tools
- A spout for simple, mess-free pouring
This design combines sustainability with convenience, reducing waste while enhancing usability and creating a packaging system that feels modern, practical, and customer-focused.

Final Outcome
Through this process, I learned how a brand can set its tone and identity across all touchpoints. From logo to website, every element must remain consistent and visually convey the brand’s values. I also realized that as a graphic designer, my role is not only to create something that looks good but also to understand the brand’s vision and help strengthen its identity through design.
